Parking and Traffic permit registration will continue at Pinchback Hall, Room 118, from September 9 to 13, 2024, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Faculty, staff, and students must first register online before picking up permits, and payment can be made online or at the location. All vehicles parked on campus must display a valid parking permit, and violations will result in tickets, booting, or towing. Unregistered vehicles will be ticketed starting September 3, 2024, with additional penalties for parking in restricted areas during zone parking hours.
Due to ongoing construction on campus, the first day of school for grades Pre-K to 12 will be delayed to Monday, August 12, 2024. The additional days on Thursday, August 8, and Friday, August 9, will be used to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for our students. Parents can still drop off labeled supplies on these days. Emphasize the importance of starting the school year strong and remind them of our motto: we are the few, the proud, the Lab.

As leaders in the Baton Rouge area, we are dedicated to supporting the growth and education of aspiring entrepreneurs. The Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge (YEA BR, www.yeabr.org) is a national after-school program that transforms local high school students into confident entrepreneurs. Starting in the fall, this weekly program teaches students in grades 8-12 how to start and run their own businesses.
Instructors from the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business assist students in connecting their talents and interests to business opportunities, helping them identify business ideas even if they don't have one before applying. Throughout the academic year, students create business plans, file their companies with the Secretary of State's office, pitch their plans for seed funding, and launch their startups. During their visit, our students had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich artistic heritage of New Orleans firsthand.
